Welcome old F friend. Nearly 40 years since the inception of F as a band, and in many ways, the experience was brilliant. Over 30 people had some part in the production, concepts, and experience of F. Because F was an experience in multiple ways - not just a musical band, but an artistic art movement, philosophical, political, ridiculous art for art's sake.

When F ended in 1998, I thought F stood for failure. But it depends what metric you judge success by. If success is measured by love, compassion, friendship, harmony, working things out - these are all metrics of success. Then success was had for many years. If the metrics are money, fame, notoriety - F did fail because we didn't achieve mainstream success.

Success = Failure

However, the paradigm has shifted. Success now equals failure. Failure in the capitalist system would be something that doesn't make money and survive within its own systematic processes of finance and capital. But success from our point of view - concepts, unity, group activity, pushing as a force towards something with a message - that's where the strength came from.

With modern technology, especially artificial intelligence, failure equals success because it can be documented. Everything that was done and has been achieved is now being documented by this new technology, this digital Akashic Record. History is full of wealthy kings and queens whose stories get documented. But the ordinary person's history, the minion in entertainment who doesn't reach the higher echelons - your history does not get included. Until now.

This Experiment

Welcome to this experiment. It's an attempt to utilize the technology of the moment to allow us all to easily document our experience for good. Let's not get into politics or fallouts. This is a place to put positive energy and vibes into a story and history of an experience. Obviously, people who worked with F also had their own projects, so that's included. But if you were a part of F or did something with us, or were integral to the group, please find the time to add to this project.

This is a historic project of our shared history. Once it's all been collected and collated, I hope to get AI to produce a book from all the content we collect - photographs, illustrations, drawings, posters, everything you've got. This isn't a money-making venture. This is really just trying to act like the Akashic Record - documenting everything that ever happens in the human sphere.

The Journey

My life was changed by being part of F. My work is still very much informed by the ideas I was having back in 1986, 87. It was one of the most profound journeys of my life, and it still goes on 40 years on. I am still very much influenced by it. This project is in a way a big hug to that concept. And that concept grew with everyone's input - it wasn't just me, Karen and Simon, it was all of us. We all discussed things.

If you look back, especially at Liverpool, it was an art movement. There were a lot of us doing different things, but we were all within this Liverpoolism art movement. There was so much political fight back against the mainstream, and F very much fit into that ideology.

Fuck Offism

Fuck off to the oppressing force, whatever that force is. We will do what we want. We will think what we like. We will be liberated from the oppressive regime of mind control by the system currently in office. Liberation from the constraints of fake reality - the media representation, the projection telling us wear these clothes, wear these brands. That's not reality.
